The NFL has dodged this to this day…………baseball is getting creamed at the moment…………but……….ya know……….I just cant ding someone when steroids were legal or ignored…….that half step advantage would mess with anyones mind………..
Walter Payton was on steroids his entire career just like Alex Rodriguez and Jose Canseco. Eric Dickerson was the greatest natural talent ever at the running back position and didn’t need steroids.
Payton, & at least his Dr. Lagattuta, knew he had cancer when he had his press con. to promote his son going to Miami U. By knowingly lying to the public & media & his Dr. covering it up for an organ donation drive was a huge violation of his doctor’s professional obligation. The lie was perpetuated to discourage any questions of steroid abuse. Also, Joe Spivak whom I worked with at S&S was still running HGH to Payton at Bears camp and Halas Hall in 1993. Well after Payton retired.
Walter Payton was a marvel though I always assumed that he was using steroids and that his liver disease was probably related. My ex-wife’s father died of the same disease. He was a primary school teacher and certainly not using steroids so that mitigated my certainty about Payton a bit. I fail to see how the doctors you mention violated their professional oath or their legal obligations. If you could clarify that please.
Also, authorities say that in girlfriend/child murders it is usually the boyfriend/father, which would be Shaun Gayle in his case. Drew Peterson & Craig Stebic in those cases. Ray Carruth in his murder case of his girlfriend & unborn child, for which he was convicted. Bobby Cutts in his case. The guy who shot his wife & kids in the car & the Illinois State Police have in jail. Let’s hope the evidence mounts & the authorities can solve that Deerfield murder so her family can have some closure.
Another thing, Gayle was getting a hair cut when his girlfriend & child were being killed & he is very bald. Gayle didn’t live with his girlfriend & child during the pregnancy. Most men would want to be there day & night for the Mother carrying their child two months from delivery you would think. We’re no longer in the Land of Lincoln. Ill. is the land of sellouts like Rod Blagojevich suspected wife killers like Drew Peterson & Craig Stebic & connected ex-Bears like Obradovich, Payton, & Gayle.
I have never in all my years heard of a liver injury in any sport. In addition, Walter Payton was never listed with a liver injury until he gave a press conference to tell the world his son was going to Miami U and he needed a liver transplant. Then he went to the Mayo Clinic in Minn. for cancer treatment, because he knew he had cancer and lied to avoid any steroid abuse speculation.
That would be for the authorities to find out. Deerfield has had very few murders if any. Gayle seemed to have his alibi all ready, getting his hair done for the oncoming media blitz. Gayle is the type that would literally kill for airtime & then when his girlfriend & unborn daughter are brutally killed, he only had but a written statement to release. He was tied into the defunct Emerald Casino deal. His & Payton’s money was tied to the mafia. Obradovich too, from my experience working for him.
O.k. – you mentioned that Shaun Gayle is/was involved in this “buisiness dealing”, too. Well, as you probably know – Gayle’s pregnant fiancee was murdered under highly mysterious circumstances – and the murder remains unsolved. Could what you just said have any connection to Gayle’s fiancee’s murder?
THe body takes a hell of a beating in football, unlike track. Alot of players die of varios internal organ ailments, heat kidney, head trauma etc.
Jose Canseco was only about 240lbs & he was 6′4″ or 6′5″. You don’t need to be big to be on the juice. Payton’s legs were where he concentrated his workouts for short powerful bursts. Compare Payton’s body to Ben Johnson, the Olympic sprinter that was caught. Payton admitted in interviews that he would do anything to improve and prolong his playing days. That & Joe Spivak from S&S/Bear Oil was running the juice to Payton at Bears camp & Halas Hall even after he retired.
The Payton estate was connected to the Chicago outfit through the Emerald Casino license deal in Rosemont that was stopped by the Feds. They stated that Payton & Shaun Gayle had pooled their money with outfit members, & were playing “catch me if you can” with law enforcement. They got caught. The other connection is that I worked for longtime Accardo family friend Ed Obradovich & fixed games from his playing days until the 90’s. OK, so during one of my football practices, Luther Bradly (He played for Noter Dame and the Lions) came to talk to us. I asked him who was the toughest player he went up against. He answered “Walter Payton, he hit hard, stayed up and knocked the shit out of you”
How does this connect the Bears to the Chicago Outfit?

The body does take a hell of a beating, but the liver doesn’t. The liver takes a hell of a beating from excessive use of the alcohol or from excessive use of the steroids. I’ve heard of knee injuries, spine injuries, shoulder & elbow injuries, and even lacerated kidney injuries in football. Never have I heard of a liver injury.
Well, they speculated wrong. He abused steroids. I’m sure they had an inkling it was related to steriod abuse, but when Payton cried the media backed off and believed his lie. He called a press conference to lie to the media and public. That’s not speculating, that’s the Payton Truth.
